Occlusion with lateral image processing

I was wondering how does occlusion affect the hand control/dynamics. Say I have a lateral position as in the image. Will the actual arm be able to work with that or is it an edge case?

Since I don't have a physical hand nor the Mujoco model, I couldn't try for myself and find out.
