Account page configuration doesn't save

Describe the bug
on the account page (https://solar.telar.dev/account) if you change the setting and click save changes, and refresh everything goes back to normal.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Go to account setting
2. Click on the check boxes for whether send email....
3. save changes
4. refresh the page using F5 (don't just switch tabs)
5. everything resets to its default (which shouldn't)

Expected behavior
to save the user's preferences
