OpenPhone Roadmap: M1-M5 milestones

This is a parent issue tracking the OpenPhone roadmap milestones. Individual work items live in their respective milestones.

Milestones

• M1: Safety & Policy Hardening — Fix policy-bypass and confirmation gaps in the assistant, watchers, and ADB/MCP surface. Must land before wider distribution.
• M2: Testability & Decomposition — Break up god classes, add a JUnit harness, cover pure-logic classes.
• M3: Upstream Durability — Fork frameworks_base, patch-apply canary CI, LineageOS-bump runbook.
• M4: Provider & Runtime Maturity — Broker streaming/rate-limiting/provider dispatch, MCP spec compliance, protocol versioning, shared runtime-protocol package.
• M5: Contributor Experience & Community — Prebuilt emulator image, no-build contribution path, CoC/CLA/Discussions/ROADMAP.

• good first issue labels are attached to entry-level work.
• If unsure whether an issue is still current, comment on it before starting — some depend on others landing first.
