Skip Checkup Command Fails During Verification of HelloSkip-release.apk

Hello there,

I could not make the Skip tool work and would appreciate some help. I searched for similar issues on this forum, and while some sound quite similar, the proposed solutions didn't help.

I installed Skip using brew install skiptools/skip/skip and the Skip Android SDK using skip android sdk install commands. The Skip checkup first failed with some issue related to the keystore:

Execution failed for task ':app:validateSigningRelease'.
> Keystore file '/Users/user/.android/debug.keystore' not found for signing config 'release'.

I then manually added the keystore using this command:

keytool -genkeypair -alias androiddebugkey -keyalg RSA -keysize 2048 -validity 10000 -keystore ~/.android/debug.keystore -storepass android -keypass android

The checkup command then proceeded further but failed on Verify HelloSkip-release.apk despite the log showing that the build was successful: BUILD SUCCESSFUL in 1m 14s

I tried installing the Android 13 runtime, setting up an emulator, and running a sample app from Android Studio, which worked but I could not make the checkup command work properly.

This was an error that was introduced in 1.6.15. We have fixed it in Skip 1.6.16, so if you update (with skip upgrade), then skip checkup should pass for you. If not, please let us know.

Also, regardless of this error, any projects you create with skip create or skip init should build and run for you without error. This was just an issue with how we build the sample app during the checkup process.

Updating Skip to 1.6.16 resolved the issue. Thank you for your assistance!
