Me

By day, I am an MASc student at the University of Waterloo in Canada, studying game-theoretic optimal control methods for multi-agent systems. By night, I am a member of the Apache NuttX RTOS PMC where I am working on improving NuttX stability and feature support for users everywhere!

I am actively involved in the high powered rocketry community, where I have designed several completely open-source (hardware and software) rocket avionics systems. I have also contributed to CU InSpace's open-source (NuttX-based) hybrid rocket electronic ground support system, which is responsible for controlling and monitoring the fill and ignition process of a paraffin + nitrous hybrid rocket. I still continue to mentor student teams, and I participate as a volunteer in national rocketry competitions. 🚀 🇨🇦

Mission

I have not written closed-source software outside my undergraduate internships. I firmly believe in everyone's right to read, modify and contribute to open source software. My goal is to make embedded systems software more robust and more accessible through the Apache NuttX RTOS project. I also aim to bring embedded systems education to engineering students (mainly in the high-powered rocketry) by making the experience of using NuttX easier, more stable and providing real examples of custom, hobby-level projects that can be made using it.

Why Sponsor?

As a graduate student, there is very little time between my thesis + coursework + work for open-source contribution. Sponsorship will help fund some of my contributions (hardware targets + components for open-source rocket avionics) and also give me some more time to invest in open-source instead of working.
