Feature Request: Quick Search: Auto-select previous input or clear search field on open

Currently, when opening Quick Search (via Hotkey), the previous search query remains in the field but is neither selected nor cleared. It would be useful to have either:

• automatic selection of the previous text on open, so typing replaces it, or
• an option to always open with an empty search field.

This would make keyboard-based searching much smoother. Thanks!

I was just thinking about this issue as well - I would vote for when re-opening, to open with an empty search field.
