Cryptography Libraries

OpenSSL has been updated to the latest upstream LTS 3.5.6. The most notable updates since the Ubuntu 24.04 are, QUIC client and server support, Support for PQC algorithms (ML-KEM, ML-DSA and SLH-DSA), Broader EVP coverage, and various Performance improvements.

Here is a blog highlighting some of the Post Quantum Support in the 26.04 LTS.

Additionally, GnuTLS has been upgraded to the version 3.8.12, NSS to verions 3.120, libgcrypt to version 1.12.0, and libsodium to version 1.0.18 (includes security fixes from 1.0.21)
