Skew Picture in Picture window / drag corners as a free quadrilateral #5593

Description

@towerofnix

Pie in the sky feature request 😸

Vaguely similar application as #4950 / #4952, as well.

When I've got my computer monitor physically rotated (about my desk) at a ridiculous angle, say 30° or so, such that the close area of the display occupies a much greater visual space than the far one—I'd like to adjust the picture-in-picture window of my relatively narrow virtual display with a "3D" transformation, so that it's apparently "facing" me.

Here's the raw screenshot of my big 4K monitor as-is, plus PIP window, of course:

And here's a mock-up in GIMP. Maybe see if you can look at it in fullscreen and at an angle, since that'll match how I'd like it to look on mine!

Counterpoint: I could just buy a Vision Pro. But I don't have $3600 for that. 👍
Please skip this feature tidily if it would cost $3600 of work.

(Oh, double counterpoint! A curved monitor pretty much fits my needs, too. I might really change my mind on those one day. But I can't buy one of those now either, and I sure don't have room for two monitors, and FOR NOW, I still really like my nice big flatscreen.)

For clarity, my PIP window has title bar & window controls hidden. I figure it may be impossible-for-good to ACTUALLY have a non-rectangular macOS window, even with title bar hidden. If so, just adjusting drawn image of the PIP window would perfectly suffice, even if the background of the "real" window can't itself be transparent.

I have no idea how annoying it would be to make the corners independently draggable, and have that be the input scheme. I consider this the same kind of toggle as "Free aspect-ratio", so "Independent corners" or "Free quadrilateral"... and then I DO think that dragging the corners is the most intuitive input scheme. That tool is in GIMP under Tools > Transform Tools > Perspective, if you want to try it yourself. But, simple sliders for how far to "stretch" each edge would also probably (mathematically) work out, too. (Or maybe not, since I guess a true perspective transformation is a combination of stretch and shear... I've never coded something like this before!)
