How do I check which agent is currently being invoked?

All i can see is the Todos and while i understand agents are automatically invoked by context, I would like to check which agents were last invoked for a specific todo. Is that already possible by claude code? The idea behind is to validate if the right agent has been invoked or not.

Hey @707, Claude Code surfaces this in a few places:

• The Task tool output in the transcript shows the subagent type that was invoked plus the task description — that's the canonical record for a given turn.
• The TodoWrite list (when used) sometimes references the agent inline, depending on how the orchestrator phrased the todo.
• For programmatic inspection, agent invocations show up in the session transcript under ~/.claude/projects/<project-hash>/<session>.jsonl — each Task call is a discrete entry with the subagent name.

If you want a real-time view, running with --verbose or watching the live transcript pane is the simplest. If you want post-hoc audits across many sessions, parsing the .jsonl files works.

Not aware of a built-in "which agent ran for which todo" report — that'd be a nice feature request for upstream Claude Code, if it doesn't exist yet.
