Let systemd manage EasyEffects to get around crashes.

If you have issues with crashes or auto start you can use this to get around those.

An appropriate systemd service can be stored in .config/systemd/user/easyeffects.service:

[Unit]
Description=EasyEffects

[Service]
Type=simple
Exec=easyeffects --hide-window --service-mode
ExecStop=easyeffects --quit
Restart=on-failure

[Install]
WantedBy=default.target

If you installed EasyEffects via Flatpak:

[Unit]
Description=EasyEffects

[Service]
Type=simple
Exec=flatpak run com.github.wwmm.easyeffects --hide-window --service-mode
ExecStop=flatpak kill com.github.wwmm.easyeffects
Restart=on-failure

[Install]
WantedBy=default.target

Now the service can be started and enabled so EasyEffects is run on user login.

systemctl --user daemon-reload
systemctl --user start easyeffects
systemctl --user enable easyeffects

[wwmm]

ExecStart=easyeffects --gapplication-service

Although that is still supported the recommended way to do this now is

Exec=easyeffects --hide-window --service-mode

The command line option --gapplication-service is a gtk library option we used in the gtk branch.
