## Our Pledge
## Our Community Ethos

In the interest of fostering an open and welcoming environment, we as
contributors and maintainers pledge to making participation in our project and
our community a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of age, body
size, disability, ethnicity, sex characteristics, gender identity and expression,
level of experience, education, socio-economic status, nationality, personal
appearance, race, religion, or sexual identity and orientation.

We provide an open, "no-nonsense" environment built on individual respect. In this community, stereotypes are just labels with no meaning. We don’t care about your background or what boxes society tries to put you in; we care about your character and your drive to contribute.

This is a space specifically designed for those "new to the community." We embrace the power of Arch Linux, but we strip away the elitism.

Examples of behavior that contributes to creating a positive environment

* **No "RTFM":** We will never tell you to "Read The Fucking Manual." We are here to help.
* **AI-Assisted Learning:** We openly use and encourage AI assistance to teach people how to master the system.
* **Not a Dev? No Problem:** If you want to contribute, we will teach you the skills you need.

* Using welcoming and inclusive language
* Being respectful of differing viewpoints and experiences
* Gracefully accepting constructive criticism
* Focusing on what is best for the community
* Showing empathy towards other community members

1. **Zero Stereotypes:** We treat people as individuals. Labels have no power here.
2. **Mutual Respect:** You are welcome to express who you are, provided you are respectful of the community.
3. **No Bullshit:** We stay focused on the project. Drama and ideological gatekeeping are not tolerated.
4. **The Respect Boundary:** You don't have to like or agree with our personal philosophies. However, if you remain respectful, we will get along just fine. Respect is the only currency required here.

## Our Responsibilities
### Natalie Spiva – Project Lead
I am Natalie Spiva. I am a trans girl and a Republican. I love who I am, and I don't change who I am for anyone. I built AcreetionOS to reflect that authenticity.

Project maintainers are responsible for clarifying the standards of acceptable
behavior and are expected to take appropriate and fair corrective action in
response to any instances of unacceptable behavior.
For me, being a Republican and a trans girl overlaps through the value of **individual liberty**. I believe in self-ownership and the freedom to define my own life without government or social interference. Economically, I believe that **lower costs and free-market competition mean more access for trans girls** to affordable healthcare and the resources they need to live authentically.

Project maintainers have the right and responsibility to remove, edit, or
reject comments, commits, code, wiki edits, issues, and other contributions
that are not aligned to this Code of Conduct, or to ban temporarily or
permanently any contributor for other behaviors that they deem inappropriate,
threatening, offensive, or harmful.
### Darren Clift – Stability Oversight
Stability is our foundation. My father, Darren Clift, works alongside me to ensure the project remains solid, reliable, and secure. His oversight ensures that while we are always pushing boundaries, the system remains a stable environment for everyone.

This Code of Conduct applies both within project spaces and in public spaces
when an individual is representing the project or its community. Examples of
representing a project or community include using an official project e-mail
address, posting via an official social media account, or acting as an appointed
representative at an online or offline event. Representation of a project may be
further defined and clarified by project maintainers.

## Enforcement

Instances of abusive, harassing, or otherwise unacceptable behavior may be
reported by contacting the project team at **oss@jessesquires.com**. All
complaints will be reviewed and investigated and will result in a response that
is deemed necessary and appropriate to the circumstances. The project team is
obligated to maintain confidentiality with regard to the reporter of an incident.
Further details of specific enforcement policies may be posted separately.

Project maintainers who do not follow or enforce the Code of Conduct in good
faith may face temporary or permanent repercussions as determined by other
members of the project's leadership.
