Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Minecraft Builder – BuilderGPT (the “App”) handles information when you use it on OpenAI’s platform (the “Service”). We keep data collection to the minimum necessary for debugging and research to improve reliability and quality. We do not build marketing profiles, sell personal information, or use data for targeted advertising.
We collect limited usage logs generated by your use of the App. These may include:
- Technical logs: timestamps, error traces, status codes, performance metrics.
- Interaction logs: the text you submit to the App (your “prompts”) and the App’s outputs, strictly for debugging and research.
- Basic metadata: approximate device or platform context provided by the Service (e.g., model name, version), and, where available from the Service, coarse geolocation such as country/region.
Sensitive data caution: Please avoid sharing sensitive personal information in prompts. If you do, it may appear in logs.
We do not intentionally collect: cookies for cross-site tracking, advertising identifiers, behavioral tracking across services, or precise location.
We process the above information only to:
- Debug and ensure reliability (identify and fix failures, improve safety).
- Improve quality and research (evaluate features, enhance responses, measure aggregate usage patterns).
Legal bases (where applicable):
- Legitimate interests: ensuring security, stability, and improvement of the App.
- Consent: when the OpenAI platform presents a consent flow that you accept.
We do not use logs to build marketing profiles, for targeted ads, or for selling data.
We do not sell your personal information. We only share data in these limited cases:
- Service providers / processors (e.g., cloud hosting, observability tools) who process data on our behalf under contractual privacy and security obligations.
- OpenAI: Your interactions occur on OpenAI’s platform and are subject to OpenAI’s terms and privacy policy. OpenAI may process data as an independent controller.
- Legal compliance: If required by applicable law, court order, or lawful government request.
We do not share data with advertisers or data brokers.
We keep logs only as long as needed for the purposes above, and then delete or de-identify them. Our default retention target is no more than 90 days, unless a longer period is required to:
- Investigate and remediate specific issues or abuse,
- Comply with legal obligations,
- Protect our rights or users’ safety.
De-identified, aggregate analytics may be retained without a time limit.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect logs from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. No system is perfectly secure; we continuously improve our safeguards.
If data is processed outside your country, we rely on appropriate safeguards (e.g., contractual clauses) where required by law to protect your information during transfer and processing.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent where processing relies on consent.
You can also request exclusion from research uses (to the extent feasible given platform constraints) by contacting us (see Contact below). We may need to verify your request and confirm whether data can be reliably located in platform logs.
If you believe your rights have been violated, you may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority where applicable.
The App is not directed to minors. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
Your use of the App occurs within OpenAI’s ecosystem. Your data may be processed by OpenAI under its own policies. Please review OpenAI’s privacy policy and terms for details on how OpenAI handles your data.
We may update this Policy to reflect operational, legal, or regulatory changes. If updates are material, we will indicate so by adjusting the effective date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice on the App’s profile page.
