TF-A1 - Modified motorized RC glider

A modified H-King Bixler 3 Glider 1550mm foam RC aircraft used as a flight test platform for avionics development and atmospheric measurements.

Overview

TF-A1 is based on the 1550 mm wingspan plane manufactured from EPO foam glider with highly stable flight characteristics. The airframe is equipped with a Pixhawk autopilot running PX4 firmware and carries a small payload gondola for sensor integration.

The platform serves two primary purposes:

  • Avionics flight testing — validation of ThunderFly avionics hardware and firmware in real flight conditions
  • Atmospheric measurements — in-situ sensing of meteorological and atmospheric variables
