AetherSDR supports multiple simultaneous VFOs (slices) on the same panadapter.
- Click +RX in the left sidebar menu
- A new slice appears with its own colored VFO marker
| Slice | Color |
|---|---|
| A | Cyan |
| B | Magenta |
| C | Green |
| D | Yellow |
- Click the slice badge on the spectrum to switch focus
- Click the VFO marker line to switch
- The VFO widget updates to show the active slice's controls
- TX stays on its assigned slice until explicitly moved
- Red TX badge — active TX slice
- Grey TX badge (in VFO widget) — click to move TX to this slice
- Switching active slice does NOT move TX
- Click the ✕ button floating beside the VFO widget
- Or right-click on the spectrum → Close Slice
- You cannot close the last remaining slice
When a slice is panned off-screen, an arrow indicator appears on the FFT edge showing:
- Slice letter and direction
- VFO frequency
The number of available slices depends on your radio model:
- FLEX-6400/6400M: 2 slices
- FLEX-6600/6600M: 4 slices
- FLEX-8400/8600: 4 slices
