If you want to track the battery type and when the battery was last replaced on your non-smart devices I have a new custom integration called Fake Devices which allows you to create devices for things like TV remotes, wall clocks etc. This separate integration can be used for any helper style integrations that add entities to a device as well. Just ensure you have enabled show all devices within Battery Notes settings for them to be visible.

• The new maintenance dashboard in Home Assistant 2026.5 will show two batteries for each device, the original battery and the battery+, unless you have already hidden the default battery.
  If you don't want two batteries showing up you can hide the original battery automatically by going into Settings -> Devices & Services -> Battery Notes, click on the cog for Battery Notes and turn on Hide Battery.
