This PR is quite heavy on new dependencies (Suggests) and might benefit from some refactoring. I wrote the functions as stubs because I needed them to see what was going wrong in the deployment of #81.
Probably worthwhile adding something in NEWS to document these functions? They are dev workflow only, but I need to document their existence somewhere.
Maybe I should enable the wiki on this repo and document the deployment process and the tooling around it there.
