What does this PR do?

• Updated TypeScript to major version 6 and migrated code (https://devblogs.microsoft.com/typescript/announcing-typescript-6-0/#up-front-adjustments)
• Removed unneeded entries to pnpm workspace settings that should've been removed in a previous PR
