### Decision Quality Checklist

Before giving a final recommendation, separate the score from the launch decision. A high score should not override missing evidence or hard blockers.

Use these gates:

| Gate | Pass Signal | Hold / Reject Signal |
|------|-------------|----------------------|
| Demand evidence | Multiple buyer-intent keywords, stable trend, and visible customer discussion | One keyword spike, weak search intent, or unclear seasonality |
| Competition opening | Review, content, price, bundle, or feature gap a new seller can realistically exploit | Top sellers dominate reviews, price, brand trust, and listing quality |
| Unit economics | Margin still works after FBA fees, referral fees, ads, returns, and inbound shipping | Profit only works under optimistic CPC, return rate, or supplier cost assumptions |
| Operational fit | MOQ, lead time, QC, packaging, and support burden fit the seller's resources | First order requires too much cash, long lead time, or complex QA |
| Risk screen | Compliance, IP, safety, and policy risks are known and manageable | Any unresolved compliance, safety, or IP risk could block launch |

Decision rules:

- Use **Recommended to pursue** only when demand, competition, economics, operations, and risk all pass or have clear mitigation.
- Use **Conditional recommendation** when the opportunity depends on 1-2 assumptions that can be validated quickly.
- Use **Not recommended** when a hard blocker exists, even if the weighted score looks attractive.
- Always list the next smallest validation step when evidence is incomplete.
