Server Addon: Facebook

Description

Videos on a Facebook page.

When to choose it: Congregations whose services go out on Facebook. Handles Watch URLs, fb.watch links and Reels.

How to Access

Components → Proclaim → Servers → New, then choose Facebook in the server type picker.

Note

The server type cannot be changed after the server is created. To switch platforms later, create a new server and move media across with Administration → Server Migration.

Set Up the Server

No credentials are needed. Save the server with a name and you are done.

Add a Media File

1. Paste the Facebook video URL. Page videos, Watch URLs, fb.watch short links and Reels are all understood.
2. Set playback options — muted, start time, lazy loading, whether the post text shows.
3. Save & Close.

Tip

Lazy delays loading the Facebook player until a visitor scrolls to it, which keeps a page of many sermons quick.

No credentials needed

This addon has no API key or OAuth level. Paste a URL and it works.

Fields on the server

Field	What it is for
Description Format Template	Template for the video description generated by the Copy Description button. Click the placeholder badges below to insert them at the cursor. Empty placeholders are removed automatically.

Fields on a media file

Field	What it is for
Facebook Video URL	Enter the Facebook video URL. Supports page videos, watch URLs, fb.watch short links, and reels. Note: Facebook embeds may expose visitor IP addresses to Meta.
Show Post Text	Show the text of the Facebook post alongside the video.
Mute	Start the video muted. Required for autoplay in most browsers.
Lazy Load	Enable lazy loading for the video embed. The video will only load when it scrolls into view.
Start Time (seconds)	Start playback at this position in seconds.

Display settings shared by every addon

Every server type also carries the same block of display settings — player choice, popup behaviour, the media button's text, colour, icon and size, and the image shown beside it. They work the same way whichever addon you pick, and are documented on Help-server and Help-mediafile.
